I'm going to guess they meant universe and not world. So, maybe Krypton blew up, but Earth didn't till later.

Do you remember a big guy with an S like ours? Tough, build like a bodybuilder, smug attitude?

Of course! He was famous! There was even a statue of him on the green at my school on Earth. Gar Logan, he's this guy at my school, remembers him too. He was called Superman! I don't remember his real name, though. We kind of all just went by our super names.

Gar I have not met. I'll fix that.

Superman, you said? You think he's related to us? I think that he is, or he wouldn't have the crest of the House of El.

Do you remember much about him?

Not really. I know we were cousins, because everyone else knew and talked about it, but I don't remember actually meeting or talking to him. Just kind of that he existed and he was kind of a big deal.

Yeah, I definitely met him. He's a sanctimonious jerk.
Also, I remember he died or something. he turned into a big monster and entrusted the Earth to me and the other heroes who knew him, and flew off.

I don't know how he got changed. Willing to bet it was magic.

That all sounds kind of weird, but at this point, I believe it.

Yeah, same.
Developed any new powers or anything?

Uh... I'm fast now. Which means more crashing into stuff.

How fast?

Like "outrunning a car" fast.

We really are like twins.
I can get from my place to yours in like, a minute.

It's kind of hard to get anywhere right now with it all being invisible, but I painted the parts of the house I could reach last night.

Sure! I mean, why not, right? My brush is red, if that helps, but everything's black when it's one person, anyway.

Mine's actually blue. So, I guess together we make purple.
Black's better than nothing though.

Sure! I'll be there. I think I can sneak out this late if it's just outside -- I managed it last night to paint the bottom half of the house.

[It's a tad longer than an eyeblink. But Kara arrives within 5 minutes, drifting down out of the sky and looking for the other Kara...]

[...who pokes her head out from behind a transparent bush. She waves sheepishly.]

Hey. We gotta be careful now, civilians are noticing.

I don't actually care if they see me.

[She's pretty fine with the whole 'it's a bird, it's a plane' business.]

But you, well, maybe it's best.

[Karen drops to earth and waves her brush.]

You ready?

[deep breath] Sure! Time to make the house stand out, huh?

Yep. Abso-

[Kara breaks off mid sentence with a cough. A violent one that doubles her over and leaves her clutching her chest and looking for a place to sit down.]

...Hell...again?

[maidofmistakes]

[The younger Kara runs over to hold her up.]

Oh, no... are you sick?

[argone]

[Leaning on her, Kara shakes her head, thumping her chest once or twice.]

No. No I'm not sick. Least, not sicker than usual. It's my asthma. It acts up when I remember things. That's all. shock to the system, y'know?

I just...hell, I remembered who that Superman guy is. He's Kal-El. Our cousin, the baby.

Wait -- seriously? I remember him being our cousin, but how can he be a baby? I mean, I know the babies on soap operas go offscreen for a while and come back five years old the next month, but that's a whole different thing from superpowers.

Yeah. I...yeah. Kal-El is Superman. I don't know how that's possible though. Unless, I guess, whatever saved us from Krypton also saved him and aged him in the process?
